In this session participants will explore systems of mentoring and coaching support for different contexts that focus on individualized professional growth, self reflection, goal setting, refining coaching and mentoring skills and increasing the impact of coaching and mentoring.

While this session will include components that align to all three of the conference themes, the foundation for the agenda will be Continuous Improvement. Presenters will share tools and resources to support a systematic approach to coach and mentor development. By embedding coaching as a vehicle for initiative implementation, collaboration, observation and more, educators are supported in making lasting improvements to instruction, leadership, ownership of professional growth and ultimately to increase student achievement.

Participants will
•Explore actionable practices supported by several bodies of research, the “Superintendent’s Quality Learning Standards”, and Induction Program Standards.
•Discuss ways in which the coaching cycle promotes the use of formative evaluation, feedback, and formative assessment for administrators and teachers.
•Reflect on current practices.
•Develop an action plan for strategically utilizing coaching support to increase teacher and administrator efficacy and meet student-centered goals.
